MiddieBack ("MiddieBack," "we," "us") is a lacrosse stat-tracking app operated by CodeLime LLC. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By creating an account or using MiddieBack, you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
Account information. When you sign up, we collect your email address and (optionally) your name. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive the basic profile information those providers share (name and email). We use Firebase Authentication (Google) to manage sign-in.
Club, team, and game data. Coaches and administrators enter team rosters, player names and jersey numbers, positions, seasons, game details, and game statistics. This information is stored so it can be displayed within your club.
Parent/guardian contact emails. A coach or administrator may add a parent's or guardian's email address to a player's roster entry in order to invite that family to follow the team. These emails are used only to send the follow invitation and team communications; they are not shown to fans and are not used for advertising. If you are a parent and prefer not to have your email on a roster, ask the team's coach to remove it, or contact us.
Parent/guardian phone numbers (emergency & pickup contacts). A parent or guardian may link themselves to their player(s) and add a mobile phone number so the team's coaches can reach them directly — for example about a pickup change or an injury. A coach or administrator may also enter a parent's phone number for a player (for example from the club's registration list). Phone numbers are always those of an adult parent or guardian, never a child's. They are visible only to that team's coaches and the club's administrators — never to fans, other parents, stat keepers, or on public game or team pages — and they are never included in exports or shared images. A parent can view, change, or remove their own number at any time in the app under Account → My players; deleting your account removes it everywhere.
Team Chat messages. If your club uses Team Chat, the messages you post — and your chosen display name — are stored so they can be shown to the team's coaches and approved parents. See "How information is shared" below.
Usage and diagnostic data. We collect basic technical information (such as app version, device type, and error logs) to keep the app running reliably.
A note about minors' information
MiddieBack accounts are intended for coaches, team administrators, stat keepers, and parents/fans — not for direct use by children, and children do not need to create an account to use MiddieBack. Player rosters and statistics may include the names, jersey numbers, and on-field stats of youth athletes. This information is entered by a team's coaches or administrators to track and display team performance; we do not knowingly collect information directly from children.
A player can view their own stats without signing in or creating an account. Coaches share a public team or game link (see "How information is shared" below) that opens directly to the stats — no login required. This keeps children out of the account-creation flow entirely.
A coach may add a parent's or guardian's email to a player's roster entry to invite the family to follow the team, and a parent/guardian (or coach) may add a parent's phone number as an emergency or pickup contact for a player. That email and phone number belong to the adult parent/guardian, not the child, and are used only for the invitation, team communications, and direct coach-to-parent contact.
If you are a parent or guardian and want a player's information (or your contact email) reviewed or removed, contact us at support@codelime.dev and we will assist promptly.
How we use information
To provide the core service: authenticating you, tracking stats, and syncing your data across devices.
To display rosters, games, and statistics to the appropriate members of your club.
To send account and club-related email (for example, invitations and sign-in links).
To maintain, secure, and improve the app.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
How information is shared
Within your club. Rosters, games, and stats are visible to members of your club according to their role (admin, coach, stat keeper, or fan/parent).
Team Chat. Team Chat is private to a team — a message you post is visible only to that team's coaches, stat keepers, and the parents who follow (and, where a coach requires approval, have been approved for) that team. It is never public. Messages carry your chosen display name (not your email). Coaches and admins can delete messages and remove a person's chat access; anyone can report a message. See our Support page for content moderation.
Public game and team links. Games are public by default, so their stats can be viewed by anyone with the link — either a single game's box score or a team's page showing all of its public games — without signing in or creating an account. This lets players and families check stats with no login. A coach or admin can make any game private at any time, which removes it from these public links. Visibility is controlled by your club.
Service providers. We use Google Firebase (authentication, database, hosting, storage) and Resend (transactional email) to operate the app. These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments.
Legal. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users or the service.
Data retention
We retain your information for as long as your account and club remain active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us. When a club is deleted, its games, teams, rosters, and members are removed.
Security
We use industry-standard measures — including encrypted connections and access rules that scope data to your club — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to safeguard your data.
Your choices
You can review and update your account information in the app.
Parents/guardians can view, change, or remove their emergency contact phone number and which players it is linked to under Account → My players.
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data by emailing us.
Administrators can manage or remove teams, rosters, and members within their club.
Children's privacy
MiddieBack accounts are for adults (coaches, administrators, stat keepers, and parents/fans). We do not knowingly allow children under 13 to create accounts. If we learn that a child has created an account, we will delete it. As described above, youth athletes' roster and stat information is entered and managed by adult team staff.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes may also be communicated in the app.
